Year 6 Camp
Each year the year 6 students have the opportunity to attend
a 3-day camp at Maranatha in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It is a great
opportunity to develop skills, resilience and social networks.
During the camp the students participate in various
activities such as raft building, abseiling, climbing, ropes courses and many others under the
care of the expertly trained staff at Maranatha.
It is a valuable experience and recommended for all students
in year 6. Rumour has it that the food is amazing. If you require any further information contact Mr Owen.
Year 5 Leadership Day
2018 saw the introduction of a year 5 Leadership Camp Day. Hosted by the YMCA at Petrie students engage in a full day of fun and challenges designed to encourage team work, positive attitude, resiliance and patience. This camp allows students and staff to come together as a team to overcome a number of physical challenges including obstacle courses, nuclear meltdown, canoeing and much much more. At Strathpine State School we emphasise that Year 6 is a year of leadership from all students and not just those wearing a badge. We look to our Year 6 students to set the example for the rest of the school.
Incursions
Strathpine State School has a number of incursions throughout the year that enable students to participate in a wide variety of learning experiences without causing financial distress to parents that excursions can sometimes bring. These include Rocket Science, Science Days, Market Days, Star Labs, QLD Rail, QLD Police, and much more.
