Location
YMCA Strathpine Outside school hours care (OSHC) is
situated in the demountable buuilding next to the Hall. The YMCA of
Brisbane commenced management of the Strathpine service in 2005.
Please use the Wirraway Street entrance for ease of access. The car park is for teachers use only during the day, however parents may park there before 8 am and after 4 pm to drop children or collect them from the YMCA.
Staff
The Strathpine OSHC team is comprised of a permanent Coordinator, Sami. Sami has been working at Strathpine since
2006. Strathpine YMCA also has a permanent Assistant Coordinator, Dale, and a
number of dedicated casual Assistants. All staff hold a current Blue Card
and First Aid Certificate. All of the permanent team members hold current
qualification in childcare. Most of our current casual staff also hold current
certificates and qualification in the childcare field. All staff have participated
in the YMCA of Brisbane's Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy
training. YMCA OSHC staff understand the need to be caring and
professional at all times while maintaining a sense of fun.

Activity Program
Our programme is based on a variety of activities. Often we will go on excursions during the vacations.
Hours of
Operation
Before School Care: 6.00am to 8.30am
After School Care: 2.30pm to 6.00pm
Vacation Care
YMCA Strathpine OSHC is open for Vacation Care 6am to 6pm during
school holidays and pupil free days.
Meals
Tasty and nutritious snacks are provided by YMCA Strathpine OSHC
for breakfast and afternoon tea. YMCA OSHC services follow the Smart Choices
(Healthy Food
and Drink Supply Strategy for Queensland Schools) and PANOSH guidelines when planning
and preparing meals and cooking experiences.
Our sample menu has been developed to give
families an idea of the meals prepared for the children.
