School
Buses
4 bus services (Thompson Bus
Service Runs 6805, 6806, 6807, 6823) service the area from Strathpine, Lawnton,
Bray Park, Joyner, Warner, Petrie, Kallangur and Murrumba Downs. These busses service both Strathpine State
School and the neighbouring Pine Rivers State High School. These busses depart from our school
approximately 2:50pm and students are supervised by our staff until on
board. Further details can be found
through Thompson Bus Service at http://www.thompsonbusservices.com.au/school.html
Thompson Busses will help you with bus
times, pick up / drop off points and the issue of bus passes. All students
who travel on buses are expected to manage their own behaviour at all
times. Disrupting the driver can have very serious safety consequences.
Train
Services
Strathpine State School is also
located in walking distance to Bray Park Train Station, which is made all the
more safe by an under road tunnel to help students safely navigate across
Gympie Road. This is a direct train line
that services from the City all the way to Kippa-Ring allowing for easier
access to our school. Look through the Translink Website for more details. https://translink.com.au/
Queensland Transport has
implemented a Code of Conduct which clearly outlines the expected behaviours
and also details consequences for students who fail to manage their own behaviour
and consequently endanger the lives of other passengers.
These consequences include not
permitting the student to travel on the bus for a period of time, the permanent
refusal of travel privileges, civil court action and/or police prosecution.
Parents of
children who are experiencing inappropriate behaviour of another student should
contact the school bus driver immediately. The bus driver is then obliged
to implement the Code of Conduct.
School Crossing
We have a supervised school
crossing outside the school and Crossing supervisors are on daily duty:
Mornings 8:00am
to 9.00am
Afternoons 3.00pm to
3.30 pm.
Parents are asked to encourage
students to use the crossing at all times.
Cars are not to be parked in the
"No Standing" zones as they obstruct the view of the crossing and
endanger children’s’ lives.
